Publishing Studio

On May 26 and 27, 2020, PREE’s Publishing Studio will help bring writers to the next stage in their project… to be published.

Led by Publisher Sharmaine Lovegrove, the sessions will help to demystify the publishing industry in the UK and the US with comprehensive information on how to turn your manuscript into a book and what skills and knowledge you need along the way.

  • – How you know your manuscript is finished
  • – How to choose an agent
  • – How to submit your manuscript to agents
  • – How the publishing process works
  • – How to position your work in the publishing arena
  • – How to understand what advice good is and where to push back

Free to PREE Writing Studio participants these modules will also be available to local writers who wish to attend. A moderate fee will be charged so continue to watch this space closer to the time for details.

Sharmaine Lovegrove is the Publisher of Dialogue Books, the UK’s only inclusive imprint, part of Little, Brown Book Group and Hachette UK. Dialogue Books is a home for a variety of stories from illuminating voices often missing from the mainstream. Sharmaine is also one of the founders of PREE. Inspired by innovative storytelling, she has worked in public relations, bookselling, events management and TV scouting. She was the literary editor of ELLE and set up her own bookshop and creative agency when living in Berlin. Home is London, she lives in Bristol and her roots are Jamaican – Sharmaine is proud to be part of the African diaspora and books make her feel part of the world.
